🚨 "What to Do After a Crime Occurs" (Citizen SOP)

1. Ensure Immediate Personal Safety: Move to a well-lit secure location and dial 112 immediately.
2. Preserve Physical & Digital Evidence: Do not touch crime scenes; preserve call recordings, CCTV clips, SMS, and WhatsApp chats.
3. Lodge FIR (First Information Report): Report to the nearest Police Station. Under "Zero FIR" rules, any station must register cognizable crime and transfer to jurisdictional station.
4. Demand Free Signed FIR Copy: Under law, the police must give the complainant a free signed copy of the FIR immediately.
5. Medical Examination: In assault/violence cases, ensure immediate medical examination (MLC) at Government District Hospital.
